  • A Short Introduction

    Greetings!
I have been interested by serial killers for over a decade but have found myself, over time, to focus my interest on Jack the Ripper.
Even though I understand he does not stand as the only one to have gotten away with his crimes, there seems to be something unique about him.
Over the last few years, I have watched several documentaries and read some books in order to increase my understanding and confirm my interest.
I am part of the forum so that I can learn from the amazing input provided by the dedicated individuals frequenting it and hope, eventually, to be in a position to give back by contributing in a relevant fashion.
    Many thanks for having me.

          Hi Chief Inspector Clouseau,

"There must be something unique about him."

Yes, there certainly was — JtR didn't exist.

          Regards,

          Simon

Welcome, Chief Inspector, from a fellow novice.
Why a four-year-old child could understand this report! Run out and find me a four-year-old child, I can't make head or tail of it.

Well that didn't take long! The poor guy only had time to introduce himself before he became fresh meat for your views.

              c.d.

P.S. Welcome to the boards, Sir.

                Hi c.d.,

And you, I suppose, do believe that JtR existed.

Good luck with that plucky idea.

                Regards,

                Simon

Certainly Simon, most who frequent these boards would agree there was no-one called Jack the Ripper. Yet, from what I recall of your theory (correct me if I'm wrong), but even you can't say with any degree of certainty whether any of these murders were committed by the same hand. All you have promoted is a different motive behind them.
                  Regards, Jon S.

                          Inspector Clouseau, I presume?

                          Welcome to the jungle!

You're right. The menace known as 'Jack the Ripper' was certainly one of a kind. I can't think of any other serial killer who matches his methodology and signature.

                              Hey Abbs.

Interesting. Hadn't heard of a couple of them.

For a killer who targeted reproductive organs, it's unusual there was nothing overtly sexual about the Ripper's work. And of course the brazenness to commit these acts in public areas, right under the noses of the police.
