  • Happy Friday weirdos!

Looking forward to a nice dark ale and toasty fire on this chilly and beautiful fall Maryland evening. Perhaps a Sammy Smiths nut brown ale?

    Whats your favorite autumn ale??

Now you're talking my language. Dark ales, porter, stout. We're spoilt for choice in Britain! Although I love Anchor Steam. They also do a porter, but it's rare as hens teeth over here. It's got a thick, creamy liquorice quality. Mmmm.

    Cheers!

Cold Spring Saturday morning here in Oz. 10 C.

Southwark Old Stout is a scrummy South Australian brew many don't know about.

      Highly recommended.

        And don’t forget awful bushfires.

Traquair House ale and Thomas Hardy ale were my favourite strong ales back in the day. Not sure if they’re still being produced.

Courage’s Imperial Russian stout was another classic.

There's a little shop in the Ironbridge Gorge has a few imperial stouts. A rare treat is Guinness Antwerp Export. 8% Guinness, but not like the African stuff.

Well, we're in spring here in New Zealand. I'll be enjoying a pint of Guiness this evening - but then, that's a year round tipple of choice for me.

I'm guessing you boys across the pond are green with envy that Bud Light is not readily available where you are. Yep, ain't nothin' like a Bud Light.
