  • Happy New Year!

    Shana Tova y’all....
it’s the Jewish New Year so in the spirit of Jewish suspects, witness, and even commentators, may the New Year bring you many blessings

5779, tonight will be 5780. The next logical question would be “how did the Jewish people arrive at that number?” And the answer to that is, I have no idea. None whatsoever

5780? Wow. Hard to believe. I will probably still be writing 5779 on my checks for a while.

              It sure is!

For those who who wish to mark the day, apples and honey are eaten for a sweet new year. And why more desserts aren’t based on that flavor combination, I have no idea.

Lord, you ain’t kidding. My neighbor accused me of stealing all the fast internet speeds last week. Revealing that his knowledge on Jews and internet is somewhat lacking.

With all the antisemitism infesting the broadband-internet day and age, I am not surprised.

It's oft-laughable "intellect" (correctly: lack of) hardly alters the fact that pogroms begin with mud-slinging before first blood.

On a lighter note, modern day "net surfers" are like the taxi drivers of the 80s: they can debate everything knowing hardly anything -- from quantum physics and parallel universes to avant-garde post-industrial art scenes.

though I'm sure I’ve been guilty of that a time or two.

fortunately being a Jew in the American south it’s a lot like being a unicorn. It doesn’t occur to people to be mean to a unicorn, because they don’t think it exists.

I am sure we've all been guilty of that, now and then. But then again I always thought it's not so much about guilt -- rather how noble its "management" can be.
Going back to correct an old mistake, an old lack of awareness, always cleans the slate - or comes as close as can be.
I haven't visited the american south, I've been to AZ but I guess that's a different scene.
Louisiana sounds too swampy, Florida too humid, and the food would probably kill my stomach.
But I am sure I would love the "southern gothic" groove.
I love unicorns - especially the ones with lots, lots of glitter. Elusive as they may be , they always leave some trail behind.
