  • Pampered pets

There is currently a sleeping cat prone on top of my (rather old fashioned) PC Monitor, another on the adjoining scanner and one on the upright piano just to the left. I've just been into the kitchen to refill my beer glass, and there are two asleep on the kitchen table, and one in a laundry basket by the washing machine...Still, two out of the eight are presumably aprowl somewhere - It's a tough old life being a cat!

I hear you! My two cats are spoiled rotten in my opinion but that's my own fault. It's so funny though at times to see them and then I think to myself, "What a life".

Hmm. You two have it easy. I am babysitting a lovely lab that has just spread himself out on my bed, pretending to be asleep. Where is Liam Neeson when you need someone to invade your personal space?

I have just spent a weekend looking after a friends guide dog. It was a pure joy having it in the house. I can fully understand why some pets are pampered.

I don't like my cats on the kitchen surfaces or the dining room table. I chide them and lift them down gently but they don't take a blind bit of notice. Ten minutes later, back they go. So, I just sigh a bit, leave them there, and then follow up with wet wipes and the vaccum cleaner when they've moved on.

They're beautiful creatures, have a range of expressive faces for different occasions and most of all, when they nudge my arm with their little heads, asking for a bit of affection, I cannot turn them away. They keep me sane.

            Hi guys.

I don't believe in pampering pets.

Fortunately, neither does my dog Buckwheat.

I have 5 cats, all of them sleeping most of the time.

I think you might enjoy this:

I've seen these videos on a tech show that we get called Attack of the Show. They have a few internet videos featured at the beginning and these have been showcased.

I'd love to get another cat or kitten but sometimes I find it hard enough to maintain the 2 I have. I'd also like to get another dog sometime in the future. Grew up with Boxers all my life and would love to have another one. Just have to convince the Hubby first.

Alas one of our cats (Mwnci) has developed the ability to open the fridge door, leaving the contents readily available to the rest of the clan...

The day before yesterday I came downstairs in the morning to find that a roast chicken (only half the breast meat having been carved) was laying on the floor in several pieces, very little meat remaining, even the skin having been consumed, (when eight cats and a dog strike...)...

Had to laugh though at our dyspraxic (honestly!) Siamese, (Princess - ok we didn't name her), circling a sticky spot on the stone floor with her tongue almost glued to it...I wondered why she wasn't in the bedroom as I dressed, trying to bite my toes as usual...

There are those odd times when this pet business has it's drawbacks...

                    All the best

I suppose I ought to clarify, and add that all of our pets are "rescue animals" (most of which we adopted long ago), rather than extravagances...in the past we've taken on rodents, felines, canines, whatever, indiscriminately...That's why I have a soft spot for Tom (Sorry Tom!)

                      All the best

I love Simon's Cat!! I actually won an autographed copy of one of his recent books this past Christmas. If even you are not a cat owner I think anyone can relate to these.

That's because in their world, we're the pets. They know that any critter who makes a toilet out out a drinking bowl has to be pampered to some degree.
                            Best Wishes,
