We can learn a lot from generations gone by and how they handled their lives and businesses. I absolutely agree that the stories of child labourers in generations gone by are appalling, but in the modern era, if they are capable of working and earning some money, then every effort should be made to get them to do - it's certainly a preferable option to them loitering in city thoroughfares making nuisances of themselves, as is the modern trend.
