There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

Hello Gut. Unfortunately, not yet, but the battle continues.

      Thanks for asking.

        G'day Dale

After more Torso kills and the Ripper murders of 1888, he then traveled back to London in June 1889 to kill Elizabeth Jackson.
        Any proof of that?

He tried to match this murder to the 1874 murder—he only missed it by a day.
So did he forget the date.

          Dale!

Back to promote your potentially forthcoming book then? I'm sure it'll be a roaring success when/if you do find a publisher. Demonstrable facts are a lesser consideration in Ripper suspect books after all.

          Hurrah for Speculation!

            Visit to England

Hi Dale, I believe that Vincent applied to the London City Mission to become a missioner but was turned down, so he would have come to London for that. I dont remember the date but will try and look it up...

Might there have been some professional jealousy between him and Sickert, who succeeded with pictures of 'defaced' women?

Too bad my writing talents don't extend to full length books. Otherwise, I might join you on the shelves, Vinny!

                Jack is Dead

Jack the Ripper died on this date, July 29, 1890.

It was suicide. Vincent van Gogh shot himself in the stomach on the 27th and died at around 1:00 a.m on the 29th.

Sometimes when serial killers are not caught and they’ve stopped killing, they choose to make themselves their final murder. Vincent was like this.

Maybe after his suicide Vincent got rid of the gun using the magic he used to sneak into England at a time he didn't have 2p to his name.

He didn't need magic. His brother, Theo, provided him with the finances he needed. Only about 100 francs round trip from Arles to London. He had the money to travel for each murder.

                        Thanks,

                          Sure Dale

100 Francs was just a trifle to man paying 5franc a week for his hotel and who about a year earlier wrote that he had only had six hot meals in about 9 months and about the same time is reported as living on bread and tobacco, but what is 100 francs to such a man?

Each time Vincent received money from Theo, he thanked him for the amount in his return letter, showing how much he had received. Based on this, Vincent had the money to pay his bills and food, plus enough for his trips to London for each murder.

Vincent always wrote to Theo asking for more money and describing how he was living on coffee and bread, etc. He had many techniques for making sure Theo would send him enough for his secret travels.

                            Thanks,
