  • Come young Moonbeggar, I fear we must desist or risk being (quite rightly) chastised by Admin for both drifting off-topic and infringing rule 8...

Dale...please, I beg you...come up with one tiny germ of a factoid to back up your (seemingly preposterous) claims and I'll change my stance...Henry's already asked you the same...I know there's a book at stake here...but just one tiny little clue to stop me whistling themes from L'Arlésienne every time I hear your name?

    (sigh)

    • Hi Moonbegger,

      Ho ho.

That should give Learner Lad a chuckle.

      Regards,

      Simon

      • Dave; as preposterous as it might sound, I'm actually coming to think that beyond imaginary door knockers and dead dogs, Dale has.....

Dale has.... (I can hardly bring myself to type the words... )....

        Dale has.....

        Dale has no evidence.....!!!!

        Yes, I know. It's a shocker.

          • I'm so, so very sorry.

I feel awful. And moreover.... I don't really like Bizet. Now everyone hates me.

              DETECTIVE DEW AND A CLUE

What you are seeking is a real fine clue,
For that you should look to good Ole’ Detective Dew,
He was the man who tracked and caught Crippen,
And he worked back when Jack was doin’ his Rippin’.

Dew believed Mary Cox saw the killer that night—,
He was standing in Kelly’s room, across from a light,
Carroty mustache and side-whiskers, Cox had proclaimed,
And the question of a beard then remained.

Then along came Dew with his detailed reflection,
To clarify the description to the point of perfection,
Referring to what Cox had previously stated,
“We knew that he was bearded,” Dew ameliorated.

Vincent van Gogh was a great painter from way back then, long since dead,
But he painted self-portraits, and for his mustache and beard, he chose red.

It was Vincent van Gogh that Cox saw that night,
In Kelly’s room, standing in the light,
But how difficult it is to believe,
That such a great painter could us he deceive?

But the truth must come out—Vincent van Gogh was a real Slipper,
In fact, he was the notorious murderer known as Jack the Ripper.

              Such fun.

              Thanks,
              Dale Larner

So she asked him to do her something in oils, and he got her a fish and chip supper? Oh dear...

Awww Dale, I didn't know you were a father. I think it's really sweet that you share your toddlers' literary efforts with us here. You're evidently a doting dad, and it warms my heart.

But honestly, the grammar and syntax are simply abysmal - especially from a kid whose dad thinks of himself as a writer! Come on Dale, sort them out, give them some special insider tips.

And your kids also seem to have picked up dad's trait of simply making assertions as though that somehow constitutes evidence.

Hey Dale, any actual evidence that Vincent traveled to London for any of the murders??? No??? Didn't think so.

                  Time-waster. Deluded time-waster.

A more thorough review of the Ripper letters might help with understanding the context.

                      • Lately some gentlemen have laid the blame
With arguments we might describe as lame
At doors like those of Van Gogh's and Lautrec's -
They must insist in sticking out their necks.

They claim to see that which cannot be seen
And God knows what it is that they can mean
It really is a rather crushing bore
We've had it all with Sickert long before.

                        You having that one, Henry?

                        Best wishes,
                        Steve.

Your poetic comments are true and appropriate, but only for Lautrec. Van Gogh was the man seen by Mary Cox and by others, and the hidden images in the Irises painting were painted by the hand of Mary Kelly's murderer.

                            Cheers,

                            • The old 'unsupported assertions' game again. Can anyone play?? Oh goody!

No he wasn't, you're wrong. And there are no hidden images in the Irises painting. Every single person here who has seen your website finds the presentation hilarious and deluded. Grow up, you fool.

Dale, any evidence placing Vincent in London during that autumn? I keep answering, you keep failing. You're a charlatan and a fraud.
