My apologies, re-reading the previous posting I wrote that Vidkun Quisling was hanged. This is wrong. He was, in actual fact executed by firing squad- something that I knew.. but somehow managed to write "hanged". I must have been thinking of something else as I typed.

Let's note that Quisling was a self proclaimed nazi authority that hitler did never acknowledge, so either way he would have been executed, he was ordered to get the hell out as soon as Hitler got to know what he was up to and sent an official nazi dignitary instead. don't worry that happens to everyone!

Actually, I do realize this man is aware of what he's done, I think I meant he will never empathise with the victimes,never feel what he has done.
A trait common to all the historical figures you quoted.
I had no thought of Qvisling, since he is not well known here (Italy), I was just thinking that treason would be a fitting description, to my mind, in describing what he has done to his own country and countrymen.
Allow me to express my deepest admiration for the way the Norwegians are reacting to the devastation that has struck them.
