Alright, now! This is beginning to look like an invasion!

Welcome to all of you. Enjoy your time here.
"What our ancestors would really be thinking, if they were alive today, is: "Why is it so dark in here?"" From Pyramids by Sir Terry Pratchett, a British National Treasure.

Jt ~ I am not so sure about the "he will never be found"
There is such a finality to that. Who knows, 20 years from now someone can be looking through old books in an attic and come across solid evidence of trophies kept and writings of a madman laughing in his arrogance because he was never caught. One never knows what the future will hold.

I do not think (as of now) that any of the suspects are JTR. So many times in history we see 100's of people suspected for these types of murders only to find out it was the ONE guy nobody would have suspected.

Celesta~ We are quickly slipping in through the cracks, there is no avoiding us ~ the invasion of the noobies!!! Once more you experts will have to debate why oh why there was no Royal conspiracy

(and a collective groan from the expert table can be heard all through the land...)

Ha - loved the Royal Conspiracy comment! xD
And sorry - should have worded that differently - what I meant was that because of the lack of evidence needed nowadays to be able to convict the man (with the real murderer being dead and buried) and 100% prove that it was him, I doubt that we will be able to uncover the absolute truth. All we can do now is study the men who fell under suspicion in 1888 and see if we can use what we've got to pull one out as the murderer and hope that we are right. I know a lot of the archives for Jack the Ripper were destroyed in the London bombings of WWII and some of the Ripper memorabilia were stolen by other Ripperologists and never returned. Too bad the likelihood of anything new resurfacing after over 100 years is pretty slim.
