As Del Boy would say "Irma La Douce"

Howletts Zoo Park near Canterbury has the worlds leading Gorilla release programme. It is one programme that shows that successful captive breeding and then wild release can work. It's wild elephant programme is also admirable.

All of this was the work of an inveterate Fascist gambler made good, John Aspinall. He was involved with some of the Mayfair set of asset strippers from the 1960's and the sad white supremacist James Goldsmith and the perhaps not so late Lord Lucan.

It just goes to show you doesn't it.

Unfortunately these programs are very very costfull and in the end Zoo's and other natural reserves only do it for the glory, without bounty behind, so it's a pity but there need more of these. and the founds are not on the level enough. why do fascists always treat animals better than humans anyway?

Cruelty comes in two forms-the intentional and deliberate cruelty displayed in the video footage, but also the unintentional cruelty of confining animals whose natural instinct and desire is to roam or browse. No doubt zoos have improved since my childhood days when I remember animals confined in predominately concrete enclosures.Thankfully things have improved dramatically now and most good zoos are aware of the needs of animals and keepers are highly trained professionals who build up a relationship with their charges, but they can never completely substitute a natural environment. The advent of safari parks was a big improvement by caging the people in their cars while the animals roam free. This is a world away from dragging animals around the country in cages to perform ridiculous tricks.

You should have released it into the Thames before the weekend- might have made the boat race more interesting!
