Exactly, but Orient at home will a very different matter. Best pitch on the planet, 50K+ supporters on our side....done deal.

As for Man Utd they will be playing the FA Cup quarter final 3 days before playing Marseille in the CL who didn't concede an away goal in the first leg. This will be after 3 difficult away games on the trot against Wigan, Chelsea and Liverpool. Arsenal will probably be top of the PL by then and will have had the Barcelona game out of the way already.

This is like the Arsenal of yesteryear who nearly always drew away in the cup and won the reply at home.

I am a former Leyton Orient supporter - being a native of that part of London so I was delighted to see them hold Arsenal to a draw. Of course - many many years ago (was it 1978?) the last four in the cup were - I believe - Ipswich - Arsenal - Leyton Orient (and I can't remember the other team) but Orient lost out to Ipswich and it was an Ipswich/Arsenal final.

As I now live 100 miles away from my home town anmd have been away for 22 years - it is only fair that I follow the local team (Peterborough United) and many years of good football watching they have provided (and some pretty crap games too of course). Along the way I have seen the rise of local boy Matthew Etherington - Simon Davies - Jimmy Bullard and a few other jolly good players.

Arsenal beat Orient 3-0 in the 1978 FA Cup semi final with 2 goals from SuperMac and 1 from Rix. It was played at Chelsea.

Thanks Derrick - that shows we both have a very good memory! So it was an Arsenal/Ipswich final.

I don't like myself for saying so - but I was pleased to see Birmingham beat Arsenal in the Carling cup today! My uncle Sid would kill for it though!
