  • Someone whose personal strength and courage is certainly worthy of praise must be Katie Piper.
This incredibly beautiful young woman was a model and tv presenter with an extremely bright future when she came into contact with a man via facebook who turned out to be a monster, not only beating and raping her in a hotel but arranging for an associate to throw acid in her face and completely destroy her face.
With exraordinary courage and tenacity Katie has not only battled to rebuild her life but has dedicated her time to helping other burns victims cope with disfigurement by setting up the Katie Piper Foundation. She may have lost the beautiful face but has found an even more beautiful person inside.Whenever I feel fed up with the trivial problems of my own life her story inspires me to stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with it.

With painful honesty, Katie Piper, the former TV presenter tells why she has finally waived her right to anonymity – and reveals the awful events that changed her life for ever

    • Julie, Celesta, and Nats, thanks so much for your kind comments.

I hope to God there will be some way for the UN Human Rights Commission or some other international aid agency to bring Eman al-Obeidy and her family to a safe place.
I hope the United States, the UK, and other nations will offer Eman and her family asylum.

But I don't think Ghaddafi will ever let her leave, because he knows she will continue to tell the truth. I'm afraid that Eman will meet with a bizarre accident, a sudden deadly illness, or a Libyan missile will hit her house and the Ghadaffi regime will blame it on the rebels or the Coalition forces as they have already done elsewhere.

Nats and Brummie, thanks for offering the names and stories of other courageous women.

      Best regards,
