Alistair Sim. Love that movie. We, of course, just watched it again recently. Careful, though, c.d.... Maria will come along in a moment and tell you that, technically, it is from the novel.

Ha ha. Technically, even “Stellaaaa!“ is from a play. Possibly the most famous quote from A streetcar named Desire is “I've always depended on the kindness of strangers.“ My favorite quote by Tennesee Williams is “The Texas longhorn is a dignified beast.“ It's repeated over and over in one of his (late) plays. Anyone has a clue which play? ;-)
        Best regards,
        Maria

          Hi Maurice,

According to the American Film Institute:

A jury consisting of 1,500 film artists, critics, and historians selected "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn," spoken by Clark Gable in the Civil War epic Gone with the Wind as the most memorable American movie quotation of all time.

For the record, "Here's looking at you, kid" came in at number five.

              Hi Maurice,

I hope you didn't watch the colorized version. I absolutely hate when they do that to a classic movie.

Of the American Film Institute's top 100 movie quotations, Casablanca has the most quotations of any movie on the list, with six.

Sure, C.D.. It's just that some quotes truly first originated in a movie script vs. an already popular book. No clue if “My name is Bond. James Bond“ was already in the Ian Fleming books...
                  Best regards,
                  Maria

Best movie line never actually said in the movie is 'Play it again, Sam'.

Alastair Sim had some really good ones. Just off the top of my head :

"Madam will you kindly remove yourself from my desk, my telephone, my chair?"

"Gentlemen we are witnessing the birth of a new ploy."

"Bravo ladies, bravo! I have never heard a trio play with such brio. After that delightful andantino could I interest you in some vino?"

                              Hi,
                              'Why us Sarge?
Because were here son nobody else
                              Great moment from Zulu.
But Seriously 'Frankly my dear. I dont give a damm' is a classic.
                              Regards Richard.

Of course not, c.d. If a movie is shot in b&w, it should only be watched in b&w, IMO.
