  • The Bunny Hatchet

Has anyone ever heard of an American serial killer from the early 1970's that went by the name of The Bunny Hatchet?

I think I remember something about that... in Virginia I think...however, I don't think that there was any murder.... just a few stories about a guy dressed in a bunny suit hitting things with an axe, or hatchet.....more of an urban legend than anything I think..

Is that the one you were talking about??

That sounds like that might be it. The person who told me about it said they saw him and that he was a serial killer.

            Hi SB
Or perhaps it was the bunny from Donnie Darko. Ha Ha.

Actually, an ex girlfriend of mine when we were both about 13 who had recently moved from there told me the story. She told me there was a killer where she used to live who dressed in a bunny suit who they called the Bunny Hatchet. She said she saw him trying to hide next to a house as she walked passed it one night. As she described this she demonstrated how he turned his body to try and hide himself and the axe from her view. She was totally serious about it. I remember pretty much beleiving her at the time but looking back-ahh, who knows. Probably BS.

              Hello there Abby

HA HA thank you for the Darko joke (now, i think that rabbit was Harvey's evil cousin anyway)

hmm your friend may have been telling the truth... i wouldnt be suprised if several people put on bunny costumes and did stuff like that to freak people out ... sick, but true.

I did see Jethro Tull years ago.. and they came onstage in Bunny Costumes... odd show.... didnt see an axe though... but... hmmmmm Ian Anderson is now a suspect haha
