Just a thread to express condolences to family and friends of the people tragically killed at this festival. CNN is reporting that only 700,000 to 800,000 were expected (and I've seen some much lower estimates of that number), but that 1.4 million people showed up instead. Looking at some pictures gives you a much better idea of what things were like. Its kind of incredible that there wasn't even more deaths/injuries.

A tragic occurence.
When I went to Sarsfest, they did an excellent job of crowd control, but even there there was a brief point when they had to tell people to move back from the stage to avoid crushing. I would imagine that it would be an absolutely horrific way to die.“Sans arme, sans violence et sans haine”
