The classic horror movie Freaks is on here in the U.S. this Friday (the 16th) on cable on Turner Classic Movies at 8:00 PM. This is a movie made in the thirties that features real circus freaks. It was banned for many years because of its content. Well worth watching if you like horror movies.

This is a very moving film.I think everybody should see it.

Oh it is one of the true classics of horror of it's time (along with the Universal Monster films). It was indeed banned for several years, and many many cuts were made to the film before it could be released.... and it all but ended Tod Brownings life in film... once considered one of the greatest directors.

There is a great DVD release of this film with an amazing bonus feature documentary about the film, side show life in general and all of the "freaks" that appear in the film... it is well worth looking into.
