I was thinking you could set up a file sharing account that contained the census results and just post the link. Thats what I did. No cost to me, no cost to others, and data gets a very broad distribution. It is a thought anyhow. Dave

Debs gave me a link to get me started. Are these results transcribed? are they by street? DaveWe are all born cute as a button and dumb as rocks. We grow out of cute fast!

Requests
In making my last kmz I noticed some pages missing. Could someone with acess to the 1888 postal directory photograph (digitally) or scan the following pages. pp. 438-439, 262-263,194-195 and 500. It would surely be appreciated. DaveWe are all born cute as a button and dumb as rocks. We grow out of cute fast!

Grateful thanks
My sincere thanks to Mike for carrying out the research I needed in Portsmouth. He has managed to unearth previously unseen information about the case I am working on - not JTR before you ask!

Yup, these two threads seem to seem to have overlapped...take a look at the H division Common Lodging House list on General threads.. unless it was my good self you referred to?
In any case, many thanks for the help with the plotting and maps provided!
best wishes

I understand they kept a log of each new lodging house that was registered by year, does anyone know how we could generate a composite picture of lodging houses? I will troll through the postal directory if someone tells me what I should look for ( like the word chambers ). Also on the google earth II thread I posted a pic of what I understand the state of the community's knowledge on the police presence in the area. Could this be narrowed down. I am no longer at university and can no longer request materials.until I get a job the best I can do is point out areas of potential research. DaveWe are all born cute as a button and dumb as rocks. dickens dictionary
The Dicken's dictionaries contain fixed duty points of police officers. I am plotting the 1888, does someone have or could someone scan 1887 and 1889? They are listed under fixed points. DaveWe are all born cute as a button and dumb as rocks. We grow out of cute fast!

Thanks Janner! You can check and see if your local library has any Dicken's Dictionaries, and what year they are from. DaveWe are all born cute as a button and dumb as rocks. We grow out of cute fast!
