What Dreams May Come had me crying buckets! I love that film! It is the one with Robin Williams in, isn't it? Was ages ago i saw it...i must put it back on my rental list to watch it again.

I watched Stardust last night - expected it to be far worse than it was - I liked it! Particularly the dead brothers ongoing commentary on the action

A bit of a pastiche, I think and it gets my vote because I thought it was clever and funny - it might even get a place on my shelf!

I saw Stardust by mistake, one dreary sunday afternoon and actually liked it very much, the dead brothers' commentary is really good, but so I thought was De Niro, didn't expect him to be such a good comedian.

I have to agree. I was very taken with it - most impressed. I tried to engage my daughter in it, but no, she wandered off and it was just me and Dolly, I'm afraid...

I saw Pan's Labyrinth the other day too, and am still thinking about it - a difficult film to watch.

I loved Stardust, but then I like Neil Gaiman.

Oddly enough, I couldn't get into the book, but I thought the movie was amazing

I loved Stardust, great feel good movie.

I also enjoyed Pans Labrynth, not so feel good, but thought provoking.

This week I read Nicholas Pillegi's "Wiseguys" so I watched Casino, Goodfellas, and Donnie Brasco

We also recently watched My Bloody Valentine, which was OK, and One Missed Call, which made me fall asleep!

gosh i have watched a lot of films...

yes, Pan's Labyrinth was exceptional, very thought-provoking.

My Bloody Valentine is not normally my sort of film...i wasn't impressed with the initial acting, but some of the sticky ends were genius! It was also a good film for keeping you wondering until the resolution. The sort of horrors i cannot watch are those which include torture such as Saw and Hostel...i can cope with the more unrealistic stuff, but Hostel etc just sails to close to the edge of reality for me and makes me incredibly uncomfortable.

For a funny horror i would recommend Severence, with Danny Dyer and a fantastic performance from ex-Blackadder Tim McInnerny...very funny. I loved it! (There is even some eye candy in there for men )

The Triangle

I've just finished watching 'The Triangle' which, as you guess, is about the Bermuda Triangle, and is a three part mini-series (so not strictly a movie I suppose).

I don't know if anyone else has seen it? I think there are certain things you expect from a story about the Bermuda Triangle - but this one has none of them! At least not in the way you'd expect.That's why I think it was good.

It's worth a watch.

I enjoyed The Triangle and like similar films.

I watched Prom Night recently with the wife. It was a recent re-imagining of another classic albeit cheesy horror (anyone who watched Leslie Nielson dancing in the original will be scarred for life)Anyway, the killer is revealed in the first 15 minutes, and there is little suspense, or horror. The death scenes are pretty boring, and the whole film was like an episode of the "Hills"

The cop seemed to be surrounded by cops, but whenever the killer arrived all the other cops seemed to be on a tea break!

Due to the lack of decent programs I have cracked open my X-Files collection and started at Series one...

I used to love the X-Files..

I watched the movie 'I want to Believe' recently, though, and sadly wasn't very impressed.

I didn't understand the point of the plot - I mean, crazy Russian scientists? Why?

And I found it hard going. I know some people thought the old magic between Mulder and Scully was still there - I didn't even see that, to be honest.

Hard going for me, very disappointing.

On the other hand, I just watched 'The Colour of Magic', a two part adaptation of Pratchett's first two novels, and I did like that - I thought it was very enjoyable and a thoroughly decent effort. It was very well cast - David Jason and Sean Astin were inspired choices to play Rincewind and Twoflower. The show was entirely stolen by the Luggage imo, however - as in the books!
