Do People Really Steal Laundry Detergent?

Had a real shock today. Went to the drugstore to buy laundry detergent. It was locked up. Had to get a clerk to unlock it for me. He said people routinely steal it. The store got fed up and so they locked it up. Laundry detergent? The world is rapidly going to hell. No question about it.
