I've only just watched a Parks and Recreation episode which features an apocalyptic cult holding an EOTW party.
In this instance the world is going to be destroyed by a 28 foot tall lizard called Zorp.
There's a nice gag about eschatological flexibility at the end.
The actual end of the world won't be for billions of years, with the inevitable and unavoidable death of our Sun.
Won't affect me obviously, but it does make me sad that one day this will all be gone.
