The premier here in the U.S. is January 22nd on TNT.
I highly recommend the book by Caleb Carr (who I believe is a Ripperologist).

Hi c.d.
Yes I am also looking forward to this mini-series. Not sure though about Caleb Carr being a Ripperologist. I should say he might be termed a Ripperologist only insofar as he wrote a novel about Ripper-like murders of young men set in the United States.
All the best

I could swear that I saw a youtube video in which he was interviewed about the Ripper murders although I could be mistaken. Maybe it had to do with the similarities to his own novel.
Cheers c.d. This could be a good one. I read the book years ago then then follow up The Angel Of Darkness. I might have to reread The Alienist. I dont think I have the TNT channel though
c.d. according to wiki Carr was on The History Channel’s Jack The Ripper Phantom Of Death In 1995 as an expert. He’s a Military Historian with an eventful bio. Quite a disturbing family background although I only skimmed through it.
