Oh, wow, what sad news. I was a teenager in California in the Seventies-- of course I knew who Leonard Cohen was: musician, singer of sad songs, writer of lovely poetry. Rest in Peace, sir (and part of my past with you...)
The Canadian-born artist is remembered for his influence on other musicians, as much as for his own creations. His latest album came out less than a month ago.

I agree, it's remarkable how he continued to produce quality work. I thought Old Ideas and Popular Problems were his best albums since Songs of Leonard Cohen.
