I was just watching a documentary about the appearance of tanks on the battlefield (100 years ago today). One of the first into action (C22) was commanded by Cpt Basil Henriques. It wasn't until they said "after the was he returned to the East End to continue his youth-work" that I realised where I knew the name from (turns out I'd been pronouncing it wrong in my head) - he was the man after whom Berner Street was renamed.
Just thought I'd mention it.
