  • Jack Davis

Jack Davis has died. That may not mean a lot unless you grew up in America, and are over 40 or so, but for many years, he was one of the leading artists for Mad Magazine. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36912468

Anyway, RIP to him. His frantic, over-the-top imagery helped shape how I see the world.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

One of a number of men who added up to one of the best satiric magazines of the middle of the 20th Century, "Mad" Magazine. Others who added to it were Don Martin, William Gaines (the publisher), and even (for awhile) television's early comic genius Ernie Kovaks. We'll never see this much talent again on one spot turning out such a magazine. Davis has now joined most of them now on the other side.
