There was an Australian series starring Newton. It used to be shown on British TV in the 60s.

In this exciting family adventure, iconic Pirate Robert Newton reprises his role as Long John Silver from the classic Disney film Treasure Island.

      Hi, Beowulf.

I have to say I believe the profile view most closely resembles a younger David Warner, from around the time of his appearance in 'The Omen' or 'Time After Time'.

Indeed, there is no doubt whatever. It is indisputable that it is unclear which actor the bust resembles the most.

A bust of a notable Roman peer
        A sculptor once construced
        Based on an Anglican thespian-eer:
Well, one of the lot (who was mentioned here) --
But which is the one, it is not quite clear --
Is the one from which 'twas sculpted.
        Search in and out
        And round-about
        And you'll discover never
A tale so free from every doubt,
All possible, probable shadow of doubt,
        All possible doubt whatever.

He really looks like this British actor who plays spies and cops a lot. The name escapes me. Vague I know.

I guess different people prioritize different facial features when identifying faces - I still think that looks like Benedict Cumberbatch, and nothing at all like David Warner. The only resemblance I see to David is the nose.

                Can it be cinema, that we all trust so far;

I thought David Warner straight away too. Interesting!

                        Yes!

Was looking for someone else I've seen, someone who played a conspirator in the movies, but yes, that occurred to me as well.

Really does look like Gilford quite a bit. Could not find a young Gilford pic and very hard to find a pic of him not smiling. He seemed to be a pretty happy guy, lol.

                            Hi, Geddy2112.

This gentleman has an air of dignified heroism about him.
I would expect, given the open shirt and his hair style, that it was created around 1810-1830. More probably toward the latter end of the Regency period.
Reminds me rather of Stanley Baker, if his sculptor had been generous.

Do you happen to know more about it?

Ahh, what a face though, a man's man.

Btw, this is actually Vergilius - Marble, Late 1st c. BC-early 2nd c. CE, Museo Gregoriano Profano ,Roma.
From more recent times, but to me he resembles a curly-haired version of Ralph Fiennes:
