The easiest way to determine peoples thoughts on moving the A6 out to new pastures would be to create a poll.

Why did Hanratty do it?

Hi all,
Most of us on Casebook have a fascination with Crime, especially those which have mystery attached, the A6 case, very much falls into that.
I find the case extremely intresting, and complex, and like Stewart am of a age to remember it well.
I just share the opinion that the Casebook of 'Jack The Ripper' should be exactly that, ie, Ripper related posts, and that possibly other murders, such as Hanratty Guilty/not guilty, do not belong in quantity, on this Casebook.
But that is just a humble opinion, and the very fact that it is on, does not deter yours truely in indulging in the ongoing mystery...
Regards Richard.

It is a bit odd, when I was last on here quite some time ago there was I think three threads on the A6 case. I popped in again a few days ago and there`s now quite a few more than that. I can knock a forum up in a couple of hours if people want to go down that route. Maybe one of the A6 regulars can start a poll ?

Is the current volume of A6 posts enough to warrant a completely new site?
What makes the A6 murder section big is the info, photos, arguments etc. built up over the years - and presumably that would remain here and continue to attract new posts.
This could change if someone went to Bedford and got the trial transcripts or if something new appeared like Valerie’s book, France’s suicide letters, police notes etc.

A new site wouldn't necessarily contain just a forum.
Using the wiki model a whole history of the case and it's players could be built. It wouldn't rely on one admin but would be a collection of registered contributors using verifiable references. Information would actually be much more accessible than it is here by using hyperlinking.
As you know, forums, blogs, articles, feeds etc would also be possible by using the open source Tiki Wiki for example.
Domain names are available from upwards of £5 a year and hosting may be as little as a tenner a month for a site that provides PHP and MySQL.
Ideas, comments?
