  • NY Prison Escape: 'RELEASED' Inmate Status Error On Prison Website

    Hi guys.

    I found a pretty ridiculous error on the official New York Department of Corrections website last week that I thought I'd share.

    If you go to NY Dept of Corrections website there's a feature called "Inmate Lookup". If you enter an inmate's name, birth date, etc you can view the correctional facilities they've been in, their inmate I.D. number (called DIN) and their current status in each facility.

    Just for the heck of it I looked up Richard Matt and David Sweat, and was astounded to discover that the 'Status' of both men says...

    RELEASED!

    I admit I laughed my head off. Been expecting the NY Dept of Corrections to correct this error for a week, but they haven't. Checked again today. Guess I'll email them.

    But meanwhile, let the jokes fly.

    That's actually fairly hilarious. I am guessing when they programmed the categories, no one thought to include one for "Escaped".

    Let all Oz be agreed;

        For some reason nobody really ran with this thread, but it's been the top news story in America for three weeks and I just thought I'd mention that as of today it's all over- one escapee shot dead, the other wounded and captured alive.

          I tried to find the thread when the first fellow was shot dead, but thought it was in Pub Talk and couldn't find it.

          Seems like a big investigation into the prison now to see if they had inside help.

            This will be a movie on the LifeTime channel by the end of the year. The female prison guard was obviously seduced by psychopaths - not to excuse her behavior - but no doubt the movie will really play up the "do anything for love" angle and portray her as a tragic figure.

              Or make him out to be the victim.

              Which was her bloke the one re-captured or the one killed.

                I believe she was having sexual relations with both of them, although the one who was killed (Richard Matt) was the primary lover, a painter, and was well-endowed. In another era he would have been a Ripper suspect!

                  Well as he was killed they movie will make him a victim.

                    As Matt was the one (I believe) who dismembered the body of a victim and threw the portions into the Niagara River one can easily see him not only a Ripper suspect but a Thames Torso suspect as well.
