  • Dr. Crippen's Glasses, Poison Bottles, & Other Items To Be Auctioned

    - Poison bottle, anyone?

A Northamptonshire based auction house is offering for sale items belonging to the notorious poisoner Dr Harvey Crippen who was executed in London in November 1910.

I'm always amazed at where these things end up. It seems rather morbid to purchase something which has connections to a notorious crime.

Recently found out that the Science Museum, of all places, has a collection of fascinating crime memorabilia in their archives. Not on display, just tucked away in a storage room.

You have to wonder just how well-known the Crippen case is to the general public in Britain, nowadays. The case is known to true-crime buffs, sure, but to the man and woman in the street, questionable.

What’s the prescription? Not a bad looking pair of specs if I do say

I would rather have the glasses then one of John Wayne Gacy's paintings anyway...does make me wonder what they will go for at auction...hey, I do have great vision insurance coverage... will I get a discount

But all kidding aside...can one of my friends across the pond keep us up to date with this story as it will get no coverage in the states I'm sure, and I am curious as to what the selling price will be
