    Boston Strangler

Hi all, can anyone please recommend a "definative" book about Albert DeSalvo, in particular one which covers the Green Man and Measuring Man crimes in maximum detail? thanks

Hello there, I'm not sure it is "the definative" book but you may want to check out The Boston Stranglers by Susan Kelly.

I agree although it's written mainly with the view that DeSalvo wasn't the Strangler. As far as I know, all the Strangler books are either written with the view that Desalvo was the Strangler or that he wasn't.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

Plus.. If I remember correctly (been a while since I read it) ..it does go into DeSalvo being the Green Man

It certainly ups DeSalvo's stock but is puzzling since an earlier test said that the DNA was from someone else.

As I understand, Kelley explains it with the claim that Desalvo visited the crime scenes after the murders.

That's one of several possible explanations which would include that DeSalvo was actually Boston S.

It seems that every time they do a DNA test in the Strangler case they get a different result.

yes, i am reminded of the Zodiac thing, where Leigh Allen was discounted by dubious dna from the moistening section of the adhesive on an envelope....from what i've read about desalvo he really wasnt violent...highly sexual, but not violent...and the BS stranglings were all VERY violent....which is why i want to read as much as possible about his ealrier convictions and Green man/Measuring man shenanigans...it would've taken a massive escallation in violence levels between these ealier cirmes to the horrors of the stranglings

I agree with GUT... seems odd to me how the results keep changing...if only we could find DeSalvo's shawl (sorry had to do it!!)
