    Iain Hay Gordon

Anyone watch the programme "Scapegoat" on BBC recently? The "gordon case"....What a disgusting tale of duplicity, deceit and illegal actions on the part of the Judicial system, and the lord knows who else.Appalling!

    Hi Al,

I don't think it played here but what was the take? Gordon would be in his late 70s now. Do you know if he's still alive?
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.

      Hi Stan,
The case concerned the murder of an eminent judges daughter .....they charged Gordon...the evidence was overwhelming that he couldnt have been the man..but the authorities contrived to find him guilty and some kind of deal was struck ,apparently with the full knowledge of his Defense,to find him insane. Thereby he cheated the Gallows and was instead confined in an assylum for 7 years...he was only released on the conditions that he never spoke about the case ever again.
The eveidence which was ignored, deliberately it seems, puts the finger on at least one of the family (the judges family)....no less. The events surrounding the crime ,as put forward by the prosecution, were plainly impossible.....that fact ,it appears ,was well known by the authorities.
Gordon is still alive,he was pardoned I believe in 2000, I might be in error there,as regards the date. Ill try to find a link for you later

Thanks Algy! I have just a few accounts of the case and they play it straight that he did it.

Yes it did thanks. So if he was likely innocent then who wasn't?
