his body was sealed in a special air tight 'metal' coffin and buried at double the usual depth. So there should be very little decay..And as he said why would someone go to all that trouble? Why not make sure the body was destroyed?

Jones was buried at ten feet, which isn`t too far off the regular depth for a grave where another coffin is to buried in the same plot at a later date.

That said, a sealed metal coffin that is buried deep would deter grave robbers.

And promote anaerobic bacteria which should turn the flesh to mush a lot faster than a traditional wooden coffin.
