That is how most interpret it in the last thirty years. Stayed a Pope for only 34 days, the shortest term in recent memory. He was said to have intended various reforms and an investigation on the operations of the Vatican Bank. With his death all his plans led to nothing.

Another text of Nostradamus typically associated with this Pope is III-65

"When the Sepulchre of the great Roman is found,
The day after a pontiff will be elected
Who shall not be much approved by the Senate
Poison to his blood from the sacred chalice"

John Paul I was elected in 1978, shortly after the church claimed to have found the grave of Saint Peter... for the second time in the 20th century. They had also made a similar public announcement in 1949.

That was mabuse, Jukka - as in "Je m'abuse", an account of Aaron Kozminski's life by Émile Zola.

But when thinking about the nostradamists claim "Hister"/Hitler, missing an E letter is a minor thing!

All right, then; I've been told, that an emperor will be taken away in a ship called "Bellephron" in a verse and that emperor Napoleon was taken away in a ship called "Bellephron"... This being the only clear case!

Is it, I don't know for that sure!

Saddam Hussein, Saddam backwards is MADDAS, enough for people to drop and add letters to make MABUS.

George Bush, for the simple reason that the last three letters of MABUS are BUS, add an H and voila!

Osama Bin Laden, Again, people have added and subtracted to make him the third anti-christ! OSAMA Bin Laden
