Alcatraz escapees

I've just watched an interesting documentary about the prisoners who may or may not have successfully escaped from Alcatraz in 1962.
What are people's opinions on whether Frank Lee Morris, and brothers John and Clarence Anglin survived their trip across San Francisco Bay?

Hi Joshua - I've seen a few programmes over the years about this escape. Much as I admire the ingenuity and daring of Morris and the Anglin brothers in escaping the prison itself, I very much doubt they survived the trip across the Bay.

It needs to be borne heavily in mind that all three were unsuccessful criminals. That is largely why they ended up in Alcatraz. I cannot see that they would have had the money, the contacts or the wits to begin a new life and not attract attention.
