    The character was first called Balinor but I then found it was a major character in the Shannara books by Terry Brooks.
    I then went for Dorian, until a friend pointed out that not only was there the resonance of Dorian Gray but it was also the name of a sex obsessed woman in the comedy series "Birds of a Feather"!
    So Doran it was :-)
    Hi Chris.

    I think you made a good choice; 'Doran' is a cool name. I always thought it sounded kind of "Olde English", as does my friend's last name.

    Looking forward to your book.
