    Hi Phil,

He has just started some new kind of crusade... He seems to appeal for a new revolution, and is furiously hammering confused "ideas" about 1789, giving interviews almost daily.
And believe me, one revolution like that is more than enough...

    Amitiés,

      Hello David!

      Well, just couldn't help being curious;

What would have Saucy Jacky done in France 1789?!

      All the best

        Hi Jukka,

if Jack was an organized serial killer, he would have been Robespierre or Fouquier-Tinville in 1793 (in fact, the spirit of 1789 was good, and France was still a monarchy till 1792).

If he was a disorganized killer, then he would have been one of those infamous Sans-Culottes, who were the shame of humanity at that time...

        Amitiés,
        David

            GM,

Yes, and a brilliant entertainer he was too!.. he came from a Jewish-Ukrainian family I believe..
One famous Polish-American entertainer was Liberace...

I'll just have to have him playing the old Joanna in the background in the pub!

            best wishes

I'm sure I could come up with an ultimate dream cast if I spent days at it, but these are off the top of my head:

              Martha Tabram- Camryn Manheim
              Polly Nichols- Kathy Bates
Annie Chapman- Lila Kaye (The barmaid from "An American Werewolf in London," though time travel would have to be involved as she is 80 now, but then this thread doesn't seem to discriminate even between the living and the dead.)

George Chapman- Daniel Day Lewis (direct from "There Will Be Blood") PERFECT!
Either Cutbush or Kosminski- Colin Ferrel
              Walter Sickert- Hugh Grant
Frederick Abberline- Even without his current role in "The Wolf Man," it just has to be Hugo Weaving!

              Queen Victoria- Dame Judie Dench

                Hello kensei!

Just a thought: how about Kenny Everett as mr. Tumblety?!

                All the best

Eddie Izzard as all the victims and Lon Chaney as all the suspects.
                    huh?

As great as many of these suggestions have been, I can't help but think that we should be coming up with a cast of actors who are all still alive and currently of the right age to convincingly play their respective roles. And by "convincingly," I don't mean they need to actually be the same exact ages but just be able to pull it off.

For the victims, I think my previous suggestions of Camryn Manheim for Martha Tabram and Kathy Bates for Polly Nicholls are pretty good, and that Lila Kaye would have been a great Annie Chapman thirty years ago but I just can't think of anyone for that role today.

The Double Event- Susan Lynch, who played Liz Stride in "From Hell," has the right appearance for her and could do it again if she could learn to speak in a Swedish accent for accuracy's sake. (I know, I've heard people say that Liz had mostly lost that accent by the time of her death, but I think restoring it would be the best way to present her on the screen to newcomers who don't know the case.) And who could play Catherine Eddowes? I'm thinking Tilda Swinton, and I'm also wondering what Kate Winslet could do with it if she cut her hair a bit and lost a few pounds. (Not that I agree with those who call her overweight because I don't think she is, but Eddowes after all was a toothpick.)

And who today could play Mary Kelly? I think I might get beaten up for this, but they say that Lindsey Lohan is actually a very good actress when she applies herself and isn't out partying and ruining her life. She is 23 now, and MJK was 25. I have been feeling a bit sorry for her these last couple of years, and thinking that she needed to forget about her personal life and find a role that she could just throw herself into and give it her all. I heard a rumor somewhere about her as Catwoman in the next Batman movie, and I thought yeah, I could see that, because she does look a bit feline, but it turned out to be false. She is skinny, like Eddowes, but if she were to gain a few pounds to match the "stout" MJK and master an Irish accent- what do you think?

How about Jim Carrey being Tumblety then?!

                            A rather manic Tumblety, perhaps.

                              Kensei,

Just what Lindsay Lohan needs to pull her out of her doldrums; putting on a lot of weight and playing a drunken Irish prostitute. Come to think of it. That should cheer anyone up.

I do realize that asking Lindsay Lohan to put on weight is a lot to ask. On the other hand, I haven't yet read the "From Hell" grapic novel but isn't there stuff in there about MJK being bisexual? (Which fits with Lindsay quite well.)
