    Saved by a Dog

This was written in 1893 by a P.C involved in the Jack the Ripper murders. Any idea?

I see there's be an overwhelming number of responses I suppose it was a bit tough .

It was P.C. George H Hutt, The gaoler at Bishopsgate Police Station who released Catherine Eddowes from custody.

Damn, just going to say Hutt.

There is an old City Police photo in which a small dog appears. Around Hutts era, wonder what the mutts name was?

                Suzi,

Do you now prefer dogs over cats?

I was once chased by a police dog. If it wasn't for the plastic tunnel, little see-saw and hoop of fire I would have got away!

A snippet from a report in the City Press of Wednesday 5 September 1888, of a presentation made to Ex-Police Officer Gormley at the Moorgate Tavern the previous Wednesday:
"Various other toasts were honoured, the remainder of the evening being spent in harmony, the songs, &c., finding worthy exponents in Messrs. G. H. Hutt, C. Matthews, Bouffler, Perry, Read, Morris, Scrivener, and J. Fraser."

                        Hi Chris
Could the Morris referred to in the report be the same George James Morris of Kearley and Tonge's?
