    Windh's Art Corner: JTR studies

    Hello Casebook. Happy to be here. I have posted the following on the JTR-forum as well. I thought it might be of interest to members of this board as well.

    I am about to create a series of illustrations covering the JTR crimes.

    I have started out by studying photographs from the period, both from London and other places, to get a feeling for the time. In this thread I intend to post all the studies I create on the topic.
    Some of the darker images might be hard to view in daylight on your portable device.
    All images are painted by hand, with or without reference photographs, in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Intous 4 tablet.

    I will create separate threads for each of the C5 scenes I will depict in this sub-forum.


    All images are under copyright and may not be used without written consent.



    Comments are welcome, as is any constructive criticism.

    This study is depicting London in 1888 from the air. There is some artistic freedom when it comes to the color of buildings and such, them being depicted a bit brighter in color in this piece.

              Mmmm, fantastic stuff! I particularly like the policeman (Sgt Badham?) and love the aerial view. It may be my imagination, or my eyes, but Tower Bridge looks only partly built (which of course it would have been in 1888). If so, nice touch.

                              Use the Bing search,click on images,enter Dorset Street in the search box,and you will find several copies of the original.
