Oh Good! I'm looking forward to my FREE copy. And my buddy, Joe Chetcuti's piece, HOW THINGS GOT DONE: AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN ON TRIAL.

Having read a preview of his article, I can tell you it's excellent.

Happy New Year Adam. Thanks for all the back issues.
      These are not clues, Fred.
It is not yarn leading us to the dark heart of this place.
They are half-glimpsed imaginings, tangle of shadows.
And you and I floundering at them in the ever vainer hope that we might corral them into meaning when we will not.
      We will not.

I don't think it is. Where it says 'final part' refers to the contents of the last part of this issue's section.

It's at the end of Chris' section, Tom.

The column has been a permanent part of Ripperologist since March 2004, but with Chris’ passing earlier this year we are closing the feature as a mark of respect.

            RIP Chris.

Oh, I didn't see that. Damn. I hope there'll be a home for all of Chris' reports? Perhaps Casebook Press Reports?

                Yours truly,

Sure, Howard and Nina Brown could.

I don't think they want anyone to take up the flame [at the moment at least] out of respect for Chris, however if someone comes up with a replacement that's not a copy maybe.

                        Hi all,

With regard to Press Trawl, the process was as follows.

Chris would continually send me batches of transcribed newspaper reports, and I would cherry-pick items to create a 'theme' for each issue. The Scotsman reports, which just ended in the current issue, were the last unpublished reports supplied by Chris.

We have been approached by someone offering to supply the reports, but I am not sure whether it would feel 'right' continuing to run Press Trawl under a different contributor's name.

I'll discuss it with my fellow editors and make a decision soon. The fact that it seems readers wish the column to continue will come into the equation.

                        Best wishes
                        Adam

                          G'day Adam

In my opinion, and that's all it is, if you do revive it, please use a different name.

Press Trawl I will always associate with Chris.
