      I really enjoyed Jenni's piece-I have been waiting for someone to do this and beleive it is a good representation of suspects, scale and criteria. i would have probably added charles le grand, Jacob levy and Blotchy just to round it out.
      I Also would have added description, because one thing the witnesses agree on was age (approx-25-40) and size (medium to stout build and avg to below avg height). For example-This would have given candidates like tumblty and Donston less overall scores(which they should have if this was included), but I understand jenni's reasoning for leaving it out.

      Overall, I think it gives a failry unsubjective, representative and accurate accounting of the viability of the suspects. But then again, my top five are in her top 6.

      Plus, as she points out, with a highest possible score of 35 and the highest scoring suspect at 13, the most telling aspect about this excercise maybe to emphasize just how weak all the suspects are.

        Let the discussions begin

        Jenni had to stop somewhere. If she took more into account Tumblety's score may have actually gone up in the categories 'Alibi' and 'Knowledge of the area'. The St. Louis Republic (Apr 18, 1890) stated,

        The chief ground of suspicion against Dr. Tumblety was the fact that he was known to be in close proximity to the locality of the murders at the time of their execution…

        This combined with the fact that Tumblety himself admitted to be in the Whitechapel district during the murders ( “I happened to be there when these Whitechapel murders attracted the attention of the whole world…” ) should have giving the ‘alibi’ number higher.

        Also, when Tumblety stated, “I had been going over to England for a long time-ever since 1869, indeed-and I used to go about the city a great dealuntil every part of it became familiar to me.” Her category of ‘Knowledge of the area’ should have been higher.

        Lastly, she could have taken into account motive. Tumblety had an extreme hatred of women, especially prostitutes.
