Hi all,

Enjoyed the Annie Farmer piece in the Rip....well done and evocative of time and place...

Was less impressed with the H.H. Holmes piece as it seemed largely a rehash of what I read on the Web some 6 months ago........Mudgett could certainly fit some of the JTR descriptions and the handwriting analysis is interesting but evidence placing him in Whitechapel would really be something...........maybe the Book will reveal more?

Haven't read the other pieces but will as time permits.........

A good read certainly and the paintings, sketches and photos are always a welcome treat........

Disappointing...

Wow, I read that review in 14 seconds, it sounds dreadful...
I'm a big believer in science, evidence, rationality; it appears the book contains none of the above. Oh well, another suspect thrown to the scrap heap of history....for now at least..........I'll await evidence of any kind till my dying breath but certainly don't expect it........I'd also like to thank Cameron for his excellent artwork and will get back to issue #121 for some quality reading........

Hello Greg. Joseph Lis (AKA Silver) was a notorious criminal and pimp. He has recently been suggested as a JTR suspect. I think it has yet to be established that he was even in the right place at the right time to be JTR.

Once, almost any notorious killer was fair game--Deeming, Bury, Cream, Kelly, et al. Now, about all that remains is Klowsowski.

In 2007, South African historian Charles van Onselen claimed in the book The Fox and The Flies: The World of Joseph Silver, Racketeer and Psychopath that Silver was the infamous Jack the Ripper serial killer in London in 1888

Yes Lynn, I do remember this fellow now that you mention him and I see the similarities with Holmes as in zero evidence.....The suspects keep getting younger....I wonder when a 12 year old will be offered up?

Personally, I'm for throwing Klowsowski into the refuse heap with the rest....
