Printed editions of Ripperologist
The updated Ripperologist website says printed copies of the magazine will be available. This is great news.I like the electronic issues but nothing beats having paper issues on hand to leaf thru whenever you want.I plan on buying a bunch.Any idea how much the printed copies will be?Also,I live in the US and was wondering what the shipping costs would be(approx).

Some of you have figured this out and thanks for that but this is what I have just written to Adam Wood:
Hi Adam
The download problem that some people are having in trying to get the sample issue from the Rip website is apparently because there is an errant extra backslash after the "http:" code at the beginning, i.e., the download location is
http:///www.ripperologist.biz/ripperologist118.pdf -- and not the correct address of http://www.ripperologist.biz/ripperologist118.pdf
I realize you may still be away and might not be able to fix this immediately.
Thanks

Incidentally, last time I heard from you you were at the airport in Paris a couple of weeks ago. I hope you're not still waiting for a delayed flight? Anyway, you might be pleased to know that I've been listening to Cecilia Bartoli, Teresa Berganza, Sumi Jo and Angela Gheorghiu singing Rossini. Now, if I could find my Kiri Te Kanawas...

Good evening Mr. Zinna,
Regarding alleged “illegality“, I'm afraid this was one of my not so successful jokes – i.e., one of my most typical jokes, for which I apologize.
I'd like to thank you again most profusely for sending me your article on Rombro and his past, which I've read with the deepest interest and learned a lot from it – incidentally, during that announced flight from Paris to Berlin. I'm still in Berlin (after a short interlude in Garmisch), conducting a bit of research in Ripperology and trying to polish my book (dissertation) manuscript for publication. (Most obviously the latter is a JOB.)
I'm glad you are enjoying your Rossini, and perhaps you'd be glad to hear that I'm planning to attempt your cannelloni alla Rossini recipee next week.
;-)
(By the by, sounding TOTALLY like a 5 year old, did you by any chance read my Rossini article?)
Kiri te Kanawa is an amazing singer, absolutely excellent in Mozart.Best regards,
Maria

Kali mera, Mme. B,
Well, my reply was also in a jocular vein, or was meant to be. We're not a very succesful comedy team, are we? Now seriously, I read your article on Rossini and was quite impressed. Excellent! It was your article, of course, that sent me to Mmes Bartoli, Gheorghiu et al. I don't know whether my neighbours appreciate high C's at odd hours, but that's their lot. This is a country where children play in the street at 10 pm, anyway. As for the cannelloni, it's not my recipe but Rossini's. The great man dabbled in the kitchen.
I'm glad you're well and I was very pleased to have news from you.
All the best,

Thank you so much, Mr. Zinna.
I'm thrilled that you liked my article, and I'll report about the success (or not!) of the cannelloni come fù il Pesarese. And I recall being in Madrid and having an early dinner at ... 23.00 p.m., with the locals.
PS.: I agree that for some reason we don't immediately get each other's jokes! :-)
I'm also looking forward to a Rip submission from issue #120 on.Best regards,
Maria

Legalize the Rip, eh?
By the by, Mr. Zinna, when things get a bit quieter over here I might burn you a couple CDs with an entire opera by Rossini. I'm sure you'd appreciate Ermione (based on Racine) and Guillaume Tell or Le siège the Corinthe. Also Cenerentola (Cinderella) is cute.Best regards,
Maria
