Alas, Grave One, I have given up reviewing Rip for the time being. When I read for review, I read the articles with my English teacher's red pen in my hand and the surfeit of personal pronouns, purple prose, misused modifiers and annoying alliteration (see what I did there) just really does my head in. So I no longer review it critically and now can just state:

    Oh this issue is FABULOUS!

    Let all Oz be agreed;

      Hi Glenn,

The sketches were pencil and a bit of pen over the top to try to tighten the lines up in some cases. Unfortunately, as you know, when you scan pencil drawings in, they end up looking nothing like they should do especially at a low resolution, so I just tickled in a few lines here and there to strengthen them.

I must admit I'm not very good at buildings and archtectural stuff........I can't draw a straight line without a ruler, and my perspective sucks........ so it's always a challenge for me to do draw bricks and mortar in any form. Hopefully they get the idea across though. I'm back to humans this month so I'm happy. Lol.

I was amazed at some of the snippets there were on George Yard that I'd never come across before. It just shows that there are still bits and pieces out there for researchers to find.

      Much love

      Jane

        Robert,

Re ideas for an article, my idea is :
        1. I send you an article.
        2. You send me a cheque for Ģ100

I thought of that a long time ago--it doesn't work.

        Don.

          Jane,

No need to sell yourself short on the pencil sketches. They are excellent, and it was nice to see you use a medium I haven't seen you use before (although I have no doubt you've done it earlier). They caught my interest since - as you know - I've done a lot of pencil stuff over the years and like the medium. I think you pulled it off splendidly.
And I agree, I was amazed about how much material that still exists and I had never seen before.

          ------------

          Fisherman,

This is not the thread for it,but let me just say that I don't agree with you on the throat cut issue (considering the extreme depths of the wounds I'd say the were an important part of his method and goes beyond what was really necessary for any practical purpose). Nor do I agree with you about Nichols - I believe she was the first one.
But as I said, this is not the right place for such a dicussion and we have been over it beofre.

In short, I think the article was splendid and says most of of what needs to be said about the Tabram murder. An excellent and quite objective study, although the implications are there (and based on sound reasoning).

          All the best

            The reverse is much better.
            The cheque first.

Glenn writes three things, one slightly dubious, one that I believe is totally wrong, and one which is spot on. Here they are, chronologically:

1."I think the article was splendid ... An excellent and quite objective study"

...which makes me wonder if I am the target for some sniping here, perhaps not having provided objectivity. Eh, Glenn?

              2. "the article ... says most of of what needs to be said about the Tabram murder"

Obviously, I donīt agree with this. It is a very informative article, well researched and well written - but I donīt think that Supe draws the correct conclusions.

              3. "This is not the thread for it"

Canīt argue against that! So lets drop it for now...

              The best, Glenn!
