It is a sad day today, I have been informed of the passing of my dear friend of many years, Richard Whittington-Egan, Requiescat In Pace.

A sad day indeed.
Don Rumbelow introduced me to RWE in 1976 when I was researching my contra-Knight material. He was absolutely charming, brimful of knowledge, enthusiasm and wisdom, and a good listener.
Today, with his passing, the world has grown a little colder.
RIP Richard Whittington-Egan.

That's sad news. Mr Whittington Egans book "The Ordeal of Philip Yale Drew", was the first true crime book I ever read, one of those couldn't put it down books.Last edited by Observer; 09-14-2016, 12:20 PM.Comment

Please accept my sincerest condolences and please be so kind as to pass on said condolences to his family and nearest friends.
I have a great regard for his work as you know.
His finite descriptions in Latin defined, for me, his unique writing style.
Rest in peace.
