    Ripper Writers - Update

For those of Casebook who are members or anyone who may be interested in participating on a small but friendly site for writers on the Whitechapel murders, the home page has now been restored. Thanks for your patience whilst sorting out this technical issue.

To Caz and Victoria, please take your off-topic squabble to the thread indended for it, I hear there's a great pub around the corner serving refreshments and lively debate on Steve Powell's impending Maybrick commentaries.

To make it easy for you, here is the link:

The next wildly off-topic post that flagrantly ignores Casebook's modest guidelines, Leaves me no option but to report the person to the site's administrator. I trust you'll respect that and your fellow members of Casebook with your mature co-operation.

    Thanks

      Fair enough, Spiro.

In future, I suggest you don't start the off-topic ball rolling by mentioning the M word yourself.

But you are right - Powell's work should not be discussed on a thread entitled 'Jack the Ripper Writers'.

      As you were...

      Love,

      Caz

            'Ripper Writers' Presents...

During the merry month of May, Jack the Ripper Writers will be hosting an exciting new serialised article by Joe Chetcuti as a way of contributing something back to the online Ripper community.

Although the article has appeared in Ripperologist, this version is an exclusive to Jack the Ripper Writers being the 'author's cut', that is the version of the article as it was intended by its author before it was run through the editorial filters of Ripperologist.

Mr. Chetcuti said that he, "is happy to share his article "Identifying the Source" with the Jack the Ripper Writers web site. The article is presented in the version that is most preferred by the author."

The featured article, to appear as a four-part special, for the first time identifies the London correspondant who fed America with news of the alleged complicity in the Whitechapel murders of the suspect, Francis Tumbelty.

Be sure to not miss it and stay tuned for the next exciting episodes of Tumbelty - Identifying the Source made available for the interest and enjoyment of visitors to Jack the Ripper Writers.

Part 1 can be read here:

A section has also been made available for readers of the article to make comments as desired here:

Hey Spiro, are you in danger of autospiralling out of control or what?
Removing my legitimate post was a shade on the tacky side nicht?
Did I expose a raw nerve?
Or were you just feeling a bit nervous?

Uh oh, has Spiro gone the way of HB and become the powermad post-deleting fuhrer of his land? It's all downhill from here.

                      Yours truly,

Oh my gosh... I almost don't believe it, not only have the cowboys deleted my post, they also have allowed Joe to alter his original reply to my crucial point, and left the alteration undated as if it had always been there, just to cast them and 'im in a better light.
This is some range these boys ride.

You mean Joe "I've been cast out of every forum but Spiro's" Chetcuti? I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Anyone of merit post there?

Tom, me old marble, I just thought it a wonderful illustration of how when authors get together and rub each other's backs how beautiful the world is.
Joe's entire argument falls down on his wishfull thinking that Scotland Yard detectives pursued Tumblety across the pond.
He made that up, and then blames another author for making it up.
                              Brilliant.

                                AP,

You've published a book and at least one essay on the Ripper. Joe has published a number of essays, some even coherent. But what precisely has Spiro published to afford him the title of 'Jack the Ripper Writer/Author'. Have I missed something? Is admining a forum for real writers just a way for him to pretend or 'stand close to the limelight'?

                                Yours truly,
