    Lost London - Philip Davies

Apologies if this already has a thread, I couldn't see one; anyway, has anyone else got this book? The 'Ripper' related locations are fairly limited, but for anyone with a wider interest in London's social and architectural history it is a fascinating (if expensive) addition to any collection.

Good review here for those not aware of it yet: http://entertainment.timesonline.co....cle6962174.ece

I had a look through this book in Waterstones last time I was in London. It looks really good.

I'll be purchasing a copy this coming weekend, providing I don't have to carry it around with me on the London Job!

    All the best

      It is pretty heavy!

Well worth it though, some of the Wapping, Limehouse and Bermondsey stuff in particular is fascinating. There is an old 17th century thatched cottage in Clapton high street which has to be seen to be believed, too.
