I've just seen this, so apologies for resurrecting an old thread.
I'd just like to mention that Nabil Shaban (note correct spelling) is a severely disabled actor who twice played a character called Sil (to great acclaim) in 'Dr. Who' during the mid 1980s, Colin Baker era.
Thought someone might like to know this!

Want to come full circle?
Nabil Shaban used to live very close to where I was brought up.
When I was 18 I was manager of a video rental store (yep, 18 was too young to have any responsibility and I didn't do a good job) and Nabil came in and I filled in his membership application. He's a legend.

I'd like to point out that our current Doctor was featured in a very nice role in HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE... Shooting was completed before he actually was cast as The Doctor.
And the late great novelist Douglas Adams got his start as a script supervisor/show runner on Doctor Who during Tom Baker's run... the tragically strike-shortened season, with the incomplete episode, Shada, which Adams himself wrote...All my blogs:

Currently, I favor ... no one. I'm not currently interested in who Jack was in name. My research focus is more comparative than identification-oriented.
