Don't suppose you've tracked down anything about Bucks Row beats?
I have a pair of McCarthy ancestors (no known relationship to either THAT McCarthy or the copper) almost on the doorstep (34 Queen Anne Street) at approximately the time and am fascinated by this particular case, hence my asking...
Bucks Row was J Divisions patch, and the image above is in relation to H Division.
Sorry.
Cheer GUT, they are actually beat maps.

Yes I understood they were beat maps, but when you hear
for example about someone walking down Commercial into
Lamb then .... it is hard to visualise, even with a map in front
of you but with a map like this it all makes sense.
So a real big thank you.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.

Ah, I get you, sorry.
No worrries. I must admit, I tend to see the area in 1888 mode, and use the old street names. Bucks Row has never been Durward Street to me.
Do you have any idea how closely the man on the beat would adhere to the plan
that is, if the Map said go down the East side of Grey Street on the way
and come back on the West side on the return leg would that be strictly adhered
to?
I know that they reversed direction so the above is just an example.
