    Hi DGB,

Neil is right and the Dutfields Yard photo does not appear in the 'Then and Now' book. In any of the editions.

The Dutfields Yard photo only appears in 'The Location Photographs' It is spread across two pages but nothing is missing from it.
The paperback edition of 'Then and Now' is the most up todate version and is also available on Kindle fairly cheaply if you have it.

    Regards

    Rob

    Thanks Monty

Does that include the updated paperback version (2010)?

I'll get both but just deciding which first and am interested in seeing the DY photo.

I'm sure Rob and Phil won't mind me interjecting DGB,

    However it doesn't.

The yard photo came into Philips possession in November 2007, weeks after the Then and Now release which occurred in the September (I think, I know it was at the 07 conference).

Does 'The London of Jack The Ripper - Then & Now' include the Dutfield's Yard photo?

And I now have the 'Correct' book..................

Brilliant service from Amazon again and a superb book!! The two together will make for a fascinating trip to the old family haunts and how they link in with the Ripper sites.

    Great works both of them!!

Yeah! I think it's great! Just need a large magnifying glass for the Berner Street pics to see if it's the old family home!!

This is the first I've heard of a second edition, and after contacting Philip, it's the first he's heard of it too!

If you could clarify that point, it would be much appreciated!

    oh no................!!!

I went on Amazon UK and searched for the first edition, I'd ordered that at £7.59 I think, when the screen offered me a second edition at £12.99. I went for that instead..............having read your post I've re-checked.......

    Creeper Nil - Teknologee 1

What I actually ordered was a second edition of 'The London of Jack The Ripper - Then & Now' by Phil & Rob Clack................

Just ordered the correct book, sorry chaps for any confusion but you are dealing with a nitwit........

Agreed. The second edition sounds as though it has the format that the first edition was supposed to have. If a second, colour edition is out, I'd love to get one.

    Having toiled through this thread............

I yesterday ordered a second edition off Amazon UK. It's already on it's way, good service or what! I can't wait to get it. I speak as nothing more than an avid reader, far, far from being an expert!!

I'll report back once I receive it!!

Just received my copy of the book, Really does make you think how many "uncovered Gems" in terms of photos/artefacts are still out there waiting to be discovered in personal collections.
