Would this be the John Gaspard novel?

I am working my way through it, and although I rarely read fiction, it is actually quite good so far.
    Regards Mike

Oh, is it really fiction? On the site it says Non-fiction.

I think you're confusing the book with its plot, DTP. The plot description reads:
Famous mystery novelist Barbara Thomas -- who has once again topped the best-seller lists, this time with a new, nonfiction book she claims reveals, once and for all, the true identity of Jack the Ripper -- is paired with legendary Ripperologist Henry McHugh, a renowned and beloved expert in the field.

The book itself is described as "a contemporary thriller".

I got the book Saturday, and didn't put it down except for when I fell asleep with it. It was absolutely excellent, and you should grab you a copy whenever you can

            I'm reading it right now!
The first chapter is absolutely compelling and really draws a reader into it, so it is one of those books that one just cannot put down!
I was struck with the author's original and creative sense of imagination not only with the book but also with some of the other work he has done with movies.
