  • Chris George's A to Z of Jack the Ripper and the Jews

I will have a pdf version of the book available for download shortly. Here's the cover.

In addition to being able to purchase the book for the price of $16.00 U.S. visitors to my website http://chrisgeorge.netpublish.net/ will be able to download a dozen sample pages. I am hoping to have the set-up for the download of the actual book and the sample pages ready before I leave for England tomorrow evening, but if not it will be after I return from the UK on October 30. Stay tuned.

    Hello all

It will take time to finalize the book and get it right. Right now Donna and I are preparing to fly off this evening from Baltimore's BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for a direct flight to Heathrow. Roll on Blighty!

For now the book will be an e-book but there should be a physical book from Loch Raven Press to follow within time, resources allowing -- as you can appreciate this trip is quite an expense for us.

Sample pages from my book should be downloadable shortly from my website http://chrisgeorge.netpublish.net/ and the entire book in November -- my poetry site will shift to a dedicated page. Alternatively, if you email me I will send you the sample pages. In the meanwhile I can take orders for the pdf of the book through Paypal at editorctrip@yahoo.com, price $16.00 US.

Thanks for your interest, everyone! A reminder also that I will have a books and ephemera table at the Oct 24-25 conference.

      Hi Chris,

CONGRATULATIONS! As you can imagine, I'm anxious to see your book. Will you have a paper/pdf package where a man could get both with a discount? Unfortunately, authors can't autograph a pdf!

      Yours truly,

      Tom Wescott

        Hi Tom

Well of course you could print out the pdf and I could autograph that. I know of at least one friend coming to the London conference who is doing that. Thanks for your interest, Tom.

You're obviously not in this for the money! Let me know before you do a 2nd edition. I might have some stuff you'd want.

          Yours truly,

          Tom Wescott

25 months ago, this book was to be available for download 'shortly'. It doesn't hurt to ask, and I can't be accused of impatience. When will this darn thing be out?

            Yours truly,

            Tom Wescott

              Hi Tom

The book was intended to be published by demand in 2009 from Loch Raven Press using Lulu.com technology, partly to have something to sell at the London conference that year. Frankly though I shortly became short of money with the cost of the UK trip and having to pay nursing home and medical expenses for my late mother. The latter problems are not quite over because the State of Maryland recently wrote asking for me to pay back money they say they put out for my mother's care (she died on August 24, 2010). This projected book might have to remain impending, unfortunately, much like the book of Biblical proportions that has been promised for over a decade from veteran Ripperologist Richard Whittington Egan... although I hasten to add I in no way classify myself in his stratospheric league.

Tom, I hope this explanation helps.

              Best regards

              Chris

                Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear about your money troubles. I wasn't aware the cost of publishing through these websites was much. I thought it was maybe a couple hundred bucks. In fact, I think it's close to free now? And I would KILL to have a copy of Whittington-Egan's book. He completed that over a decade ago. I think the publishing fell through or something. It will never, come out, because it only went up to the year 2000, so it would look silly now. Only us Ripper nuts would love it.

                Yours truly,

                Tom Wescott
